An Analysis of Methods of Branding in Petroleum and Related Industries

Applying methods of branding in oil and related industries amounts to a better recognition of Iran’s petroleum industry and creation of a positive image of it, inside and outside of the country; and by global branding and increasing confidence in consumers and financers will increase the rate of domestic and foreign financings. An endeavor to make universal brands in petroleum industry and to gain the ground  in reaching such an advantage could encourage and underline economic growth and development of the country in every dimension. The fact that would somehow, culminate in an economic security in the long run.

This article aim to characterize methods of branding in oil and related industries. The methodology for writing this paper up was descriptive-survey research and the survey data have been collected through questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistic methods, through statistical analysis software of SPSS, version 19.

Based on findings of this research, factors such as: strategic management of brand, legal protection, right distribution channel, innovation and specialized manpower; have a crucial role in creating and strengthening brands in petroleum and related industries and active participation of the industry in global markets. Besides, according to findings of this paper, the most important ways of branding in oil and related industries are strategic management of brand and legal protections in private and public sectors respectively.
