Investigating the situation of the agricultural sector with emphasis on the livestock industry

Given the importance of the agricultural sector in influencing macroeconomic indicators such as value added and job creation, as well as its key role in ensuring food security, this study is briefly and concisely with the approach of identifying challenges in Iran's agricultural sector and introducing strategies to improve productivity and production in related activities. Among the activities of the agricultural sector, the livestock sector is important for several reasons, such as the key role in ensuring food security (especially in the field of protein and dairy products), the long value chain and the possibility of creating high added value, employment potential and so on.  Studies show that the production process of light and heavy livestock products in the country has been increasing over the past 30 years, and in recent years, however, this trend has been declining.

In terms of the nature of production in Iran's livestock industry, the share of industrial cattle in creating value added and production and consequently employment is lower than traditional livestock.

Improving procedural procedures, reducing the time required to process applicants' applications, adjusting crime, especially in the area of ​​soil degradation and unauthorized water abstraction, can be effective strategies for achieving sustainable production growth in the agricultural sector and protecting the natural resources required by this sector.
